Kathy McKee
Executive Director
Kathy has been ED of the NSCDA since 2017 and a board member for 10 years prior. She has been involved in career development and the delivery of employment services in NS for more than two decades. She has successfully managed the incredible growth of the NSCDA to approximately 20 employees from three, several office moves and an expansion of services that are setting new standards across the country. Kathy’s pronouns are she/her.
Connie Corse
Training Manager
Connie is a Certified Career Development Practitioner. She holds a BSc in Psychology, and has 24 years’ experience in the human resources industry. She is currently enrolled in a leadership certificate program at Saint Mary’s University. Under Connie’s guidance, the NSCDA has become a recognized leader in the development of training programs that support career developers across Canada and the world. Connie’s pronouns are she/her.
Teresa Francis
Director of Learning and Professional Practice
Teresa joined the staff of the NSCDA in 2019. She has been involved both provincially and nationally in career development, counselling and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) for over two decades and has been a contributor to the NSCDA since its early days. Teresa loves to learn and to support others’ career and learning journeys, especially as related to finding meaningful, sustainable work. Teresa’s pronouns are she/her.
Chris Shupe
Project Manager
Chris joined the NSCDA in 2020 as Project Manager, after working more than 20 years in private sector consulting and municipal government. His career background is in both technical (GIS and Information Management) and project and team management services. Chris has been instrumental in organizing and managing the NSCDA’s ever-growing list of projects, ensuring things run smoothly and on time. Chris’s pronouns are him/he.
Chantelle Marshall
Financial Manager
Chantelle joined the NSCDA team in 2016 to manage the organization’s finances and provide aid to both membership and the certification program. As the organization has grown, she has focused on finances and membership. Chantelle enjoys hearing from members on how the organization can help make a positive impact in their professional lives. She brought with her twelve years of experience in financial management, board governance, ISO 2019 certification, project management and administration from both community economic development non-profit and career development sectors. She thinks that her most rewarding learning experiences often fell under the job category of “other jobs as needed,” which has led to a varied professional background. Her expertise has resulted in the continued growth of NSCDA assets, including introducing professional membership and client record management software. She works hard to ensure the NSCDA’s resources are relevant far into the future.
Cathi Stevenson
Communications Coordinator
Since 2015 Cathi has been quietly (sometimes a bit loudly) writing, editing and designing print and digital products to support and complement the NSCDA’s many projects. Cathi holds a degree in behavioural psychology and several professional certificates. She recently took over the redesign of the NSCDA website, and is regularly taking training to increase her skill level on the Avada platform for WordPress. Cathi’s pronouns are she/her.
Ashley Halverson
Administrator | Event Coordinator
Ashley joined the NSCDA team in April 2017 to assist with the annual conference. Her skillset and strong work ethic were quickly recognized and she was offered a permanent position in administration, where her duties expanded again to include working for the NSCDA’s certification department. Ashley also studies office administration through the NSCC’s distance education program. Ashley’s pronouns are she/her.
Shila Hamilton
Executive Assistant
Shila started her career with the NSCDA in 2019, bringing with her six years of experience in the accounting and administration fields. She is the go-to person for getting things done and taking care of details to make sure NSCDA programs and events run smoothly. She is working towards a degree in human resources, as well as taking courses mental health and suicide prevention. Shila’s pronouns are she/her.
Caitlin Parkinson
Content Developer
Caitlin has been with the NSCDA since 2017 and has been wowing people with their writing and research skills ever since. In a previous life they worked for a project housed by the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour providing training and advocacy for injured workers and their families, kindling a passion for empowering others through accessible education.
Mitchell Tempro
Training Developer
Mitchell joined the NSCDA Team in 2020 after completing his Business Administration degree at Acadia University, majoring in Business Technology Management. Since then, he has been involved in planning and execution of the Annual Conference, managing the organization’s social media, and has played a large role in implementing a French Translation Process for training materials. Mitchell’s pronouns are him/he.
Isaac Lungu
Hailing from Zambia and raised in Botswana, Isaac’s diverse journey has brought him to the NSCDA in 2020 as the IT Support Specialist. Isaac has a degree in marketing and more than a decade of experience in web and social media. “I am a firm believer in self-improvement. Investing in one’s own skills and having a positive, progressive attitude is the key to success.” Isaac’s pronouns are he/him.
Michael Bohan
Training Developer
Michael joined the NSCDA in 2019. He holds a BA in science and chemistry from Mount Allison, and a BA in education from Mount Saint Vincent University. Michael’s teaching credentials and coaching experience make him a creative, valuable member of the NSCDA’s training development team. Michael is also a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner. Michael’s pronouns are he/him.
Junior Moaku
Training Developer
Junior attended Iowa Central Community College where he played basketball and earned an Accounting Assistant diploma. In 2019, he graduated from Acadia University with a degree in Business Administration, and started work with the NSCDA immediately. Junior’s bilingualism and entrepreneurial skills have helped elevate the NSCDA’s training programs to compete at a national level. He’s a strong advocate for mental health literacy and awareness and founder of the Save Me Save We social enterprise. Junior’s pronouns are he/him.
Lindsay Guitard
Certification Manager and Registrar
Lindsay joined the NSCDA’s Office of Registrar Team in 2021. With more than 12 years in health care administration focusing on program service delivery, process governance and stakeholder engagement. Lindsay is passionate about team collaboration, leadership development, building diverse teams and her continued Indigenous ways of learning. Having a mixed education of College and University she is an advocate for the recognition of prior learning and continuing education. In her personal time, she can be found reading behind a stack of books while adding more books to her online shopping cart.

Lisa Strong
Career Services Specialist
Lisa joined the NSCDA in 2021 as a Career Services Specialist, after working for 5 years as both a Case Manager and Career Counsellor with Nova Scotia Works. Lisa is also a Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP-cm). Lisa’s career background prior to Employment Services was in teaching and as a Reading Tutor in phonics and phenomics. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Master of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University.
Lisa draws on her Case Management, Career Counselling, Nova Scotia Works, and teaching experience to contribute, facilitate, and develop a variety of Career Development related projects with the NSCDA.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys collecting beach glass from the many beautiful beaches in Cape Breton and hanging out with her 5 cats.
