The ARC of Empathy

New Self-Paced Course: The ARC of Empathy

Want to build stronger client relationships and improve your communication skills? The ARC of Empathy is an eight-module course designed to help you better understand and apply empathy in your work. Through reflection, neuroscience, and practical strategies, you’ll explore how empathy works and how to use it effectively in real time.

 

This course is ideal for career development professionals who want to strengthen listening skills, manage emotional responses, and connect more meaningfully with clients and colleagues.

What you’ll learn:

  • How empathy supports communication and social understanding
  • How to recognize and adjust your own empathic responses
  • Strategies for active listening and responding with awareness
  • Ways to improve focus and emotional intelligence through “brain fitness” techniques
 

How to start learning:

  1. Go to www.nscda.ca and open the Training Catalogue.
  2. Add your course(s) to your account, then go to your cart to check out.
  3. From your HUB dashboard, click Training to see the courses (Learning Plans) in your account.
  4. In the side menu, select Courses → My Learning Plans to view everything assigned to you.
  5. Choose a course, click Start, and begin learning!
    • Be sure to complete the Learner’s Agreement.
    • Always use the Exit button to save your progress.
    • Remember to click Update to ensure that your progress is recorded when the course is finished
