Dalhousie University Faculty of Open Learning and Career Development offers a brand new Certificate of Professional and Leadership Studies in Career Development, designed in partnership with the NSCDA. The faculty has also partnered with the NSCDA on a co-branded microcredential – connecting skills for employers. The Certificate program and courses:

• Align with the national competency framework 
• Support new and experienced career practitioners 
• Grant learners a microcredential after each course and a Certificate on completion of all 6 courses

The partnership and program was developed in 2021. In the fall of that year, the NSCDA in partnership with Dalhousie, introduced a bursary program to award ten people from African Nova Scotian, Indigenous, or new-to-Canada communities the opportunity to complete the Dalhousie Certificate of Professional and Leadership Studies for Career Practitioners.
